President, Bruce Schaffer
has been a member of Unity for 14 yrs. He found Unity just two years
after he started his spiritual journey, which he travels in a very
active way. Bruce has been assisting in the transformational weekend
workshop, called The Loving Course, for over fourteen years and has
assisted at every Holy Relationship weekend since he took the very
first one ever offered. He not only did the same with the Beyond
Forgiveness weekend, but is also learning to facilitate the weekend.
You may be familiar with Bruce through one of his articles in the
newsletter, or through meeting him at one of the services, events or
activities here since he rarely misses any of them. Bruce comes with
experience as a member of the Board of Trustees of Fairmount Temple
YPC, where he served for seven years.

Vice President, Ted Vitale was
born, raised and has lived on the east side of Cleveland his entire
life. He is 44 years old and married with 2 children, Victor 10 and Max
5. Ted’s introduction into spirituality came through his recovery from
alcoholism at the age of 27. He has been sober and an active member of
AA for 18 years, which led him to Unity in 1992. Ted grew in the Unity
principles and has served as a board member for Unity of Chesterland.
For the last ten years, Ted and his wife Rosemary have been successfully
growing their own asphalt business and donated the resurfacing of the
parking lot at the church. He really enjoys spending time with his
family, working on his antique army truck, watching the history
channel, and learning metaphysics. Ted says that it’s by the grace of
God they have been blessed with much success.
Treasurer, Leslie Fortney was born in Fairview Park, Ohio, and has lived in the Cleveland area most of her life. Having been the youngest of four, and only child, and the age of 12, the oldest of three, she has a unique perspective on childhood and what it means to be part of a family such as what we are creating at Unity.
As a licensed Intervention Specialist with a M. Ed. and 20 plus years of experience, she has worked with countless numbers of children in regular and special education environments. Prior to her career in education she also managed local movie theatres, with all the myriad of responsibilities including personnel, advertising and customer service.
As a member of Unity, she participates in many activities at the Center, such as: Choir, ACIM, Beyond Forgiveness, Quantum Abundance Classes, and as a UYO Volunteer, just to name a few. In addition to the personal spiritual growth that she has acquired, she has proven that she is a committed member of this spiritual community and has the dedication and desire to continue to support the growth of Unity Center by becoming a board member.

Jim Roby is a native of Michigan who has lived in Cleveland
for over ten years and has been a part of Unity for the same amount of
time. He was, no doubt, influenced by his sister, Rev. Meredith
Dawson, who is a Unity minister. Jim has pursued a deeper metaphysical
understanding by studying under such well know teachers as Dr. Jean Houston and James Twyman, among others.
Jim is owner of SteriTec, an air quality control company that has risen
to be one of the top companies in this field in the United States. You
may have noticed how much fresher the air is at the Center due to Jim. He
is very well known and connected in the Cleveland business community
and has served on many civic boards over the years. Jim brings a
wealth of knowledge and experience and a desire to get the job done.

He was named after a family friend and mystic who lectured and published many books from the 1930’s to his passing in 1972.
